Course Overview

Trade Name: Creche Management
Duration: 6 Months (1 Semester)
NSQF Level: Level 3
Eligibility: 10th Grade Pass from a recognized board
Objective: To train candidates in managing and operating a creche, including childcare, creating a safe learning environment, staff coordination, and administrative tasks, preparing them for roles in creches, hospitals, or self-employment in childcare services.
Certification: National Trade Certificate (NTC) by NCVT

Introduction to Creche Management: Role of creches in childcare, importance in community welfare, overview of early childhood care.
Child Development: Stages of child development (0-6 years), physical, emotional, and cognitive milestones.
Safety and Hygiene: Child safety protocols, first aid, sanitation practices, infection control in creches.
Nutrition and Health: Basic nutritional needs of children, meal planning, identifying allergies, health check-ups.
Learning Environment: Designing age-appropriate play areas, selecting toys and learning materials, organizing activities (painting, storytelling).
Creche Administration: Record-keeping, budgeting, parent communication, staff management, compliance with local regulations.
Child Psychology: Understanding behavior, managing tantrums, fostering social skills, addressing special needs.
Legal Framework: Child protection laws, creche licensing requirements, labor laws for staff.

Hours: 120 hours

Childcare Activities: Organizing play sessions (drawing, puzzles, sand/water play), storytelling, and group games for children (2-6 years).
Safety Drills: Practicing emergency evacuation, administering basic first aid, maintaining hygiene (handwashing, diapering).
Nutrition Practice: Preparing balanced meals/snacks, checking food safety, serving age-appropriate portions.
Environment Setup: Arranging play areas, ensuring safe furniture (no sharp edges), disinfecting toys and surfaces.
Parent Interaction: Simulating parent meetings, addressing concerns, maintaining daily child activity logs.
Administrative Tasks: Preparing attendance records, managing budgets for supplies, drafting staff schedules.
Observation Skills: Identifying developmental milestones, documenting behavioral issues, suggesting interventions.
Project Work: Design and manage a mock creche for 10 children for one week, including activity planning, safety checks, and parent reporting.
